Hobbies
Breanna Faye is a peripatetic-optimist and erudite-aesthete. Extensively trained as a designer, artist, and architect, she found her niche in tech-aesthetic fields that allow her to express her creativity while working alongside multi-faceted professionals on projects across a multitude of scales and disciplines. A recent graduate of MIT and professional maker-of-things, she enjoys defining problems, designing solutions, excessive creativity, and infinite amounts of over-productivity (if such a thing exists). She is currently working as a design researcher in Santiago de Chile while pursuing a professional position that marries her enthusiasm for technology and creative pursuits in the field of interaction design. Breanna graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors of Design in 2011 and spent the last two years of her undergraduate career furthering her interests in humanitarian architecture and community-based design, including completing a student initiated design-build project for a non-profit organization and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, as well as a disaster relief program entitled Hope for Haiti. These interests influenced her to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a Masters of Architecture, where she was exposed to interdisciplinary research and technology-centered design through courses in the MIT's Media Lab, School of Architecture and Urban Planning, and Harvard's Graduate School of Design. Her master's thesis project focused on Ed-Tech in West Africa, designing a secondary school campus fused with a technology research center in rural Ghana that acted a model to reform the struggling secondary education system.
